About Me
IYENGAR YOGA
Iyengar yoga focuses on precise alignment, step by step instruction, and individualized feedback. You will learn essential yoga poses, use props and hold poses longer.
I’ve been exploring yoga for decades now. When I started taking Iyengar yoga, I could see right away that the teacher was very knowledgeable and attentive to her students. Later, I learned that Iyengar teachers are trained for 3 years before applying for a practical assessment. When I became a teacher, I continued to study, as do the other Iyengar teachers I know. For me, yoga includes the physical postures, breath, mindfulness & self-study practices, and taking this into action into everyday life.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to discover how they can benefit from yoga. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, the supportive environment in Iyengar classes encourages personal growth and exploration. With a diverse group of students in each class, you will find that everyone can adapt their practice to focus on their specific needs. My classes are friendly, encouraging, informative, creative and always, there is something new.
MOVEMENT COACHING
I help you learn how to exercise with better alignment and be more efficient in meeting your exercise goals.
Before we launch into more challenging exercises, I gather information and look at how you move. Each person receives an individualized approach based on their goals. Exercise sessions are creative and progress step by step.
When you learn to move better, it can be a combination of becoming more mobile, more stable around joints, improved technique and posture, and by gaining more endurance and strength. I see clients moving better after a few sessions and continue to progress them, as they become healthier, stronger and fitter.
